Raised Panel, a distinctly European style of shutter, can be customized to fit period architecture or decor. They are usually square, with one or more recessed rectangular panels set inside the shutter frames. There are two basic design choices in exterior paneled shutters. The first is the double rectangle design in which two rectangles are found within the shutter's perimeter: one on top and another on bottom. The second design choice in paneled shutters are those with three panels, most with large panels at top and bottom divided by a narrow panel at the shutter's center. Raised panel shutters are an ideal enhancement to federal manor homes, traditional colonial homes, quaint craft cottages and other architectural style homes.
